Address:
333 Old Street, London EC1V 9LE London, United Kingdom.
Description:
The 333/Mother bar complex was at the heart of the original Hoxton revolution. Its promoters and DJ’s helped launch the mullet movement and fanzine the Shoreditch Twat which was later adapted for Channel Four. The original Hoxton outpost and still the best it revels in its basement scuzziness downstairs while upstairs Mother makes an ideal lounging and drinking space. Music is the main concern at 333 and both it and Mother regularly boast sparkling line-ups covering everything from the darkest drum'n'bass to crunchy beats and breaks. Punk meets dub, reggae and pounding dancehall for some serious booty shaking action at Cherry Pie’s fortnightly residency. No East End venue has inspired more silly fashions, general japery and musical mayhem than this Shoreditch stalwart.
